Is it dangerous to bypass knock sensor with a 1 meg restor? What are the symptoms of the knock sensor being faulty. Can't find any info for the z.
Thanks for any ideas.

for a 300zx Non Turbo the bypass is basically harmless I done the bypass on my 300zx non turbo manual with a chipped ecu and ran it hard on limiter for. many years and its still running today. With code 34 you will run saftey fuel maps and retarded timing and on a twin turbo it will run safety boost 5-6psi.
For a Twin Turbo 300zx I would at the very least relocate a new knock sensor to the back of the plenum rather than bypass. A turbo car on boost can cause knock very easily, A non turbo with a stock ecu or good tuned ecu is very unlikely to knock/ping/detonate.
