Try checking all the vacuum/boost lines. Leaks in these often show up under deceleration

The complete car is whole. Nothing at all removed. Has plenty of good bits on it. The body is pretty well munted (rust and I gave it a few good knocks - she'd crack that back end out real snappy) and the engine has either rod knock or the VCT solenoids are foicked. Apart from that its as it was when...

The stock system is adequate for the job, when the car was new. New was over 20 years ago. If yours hasn't had all the water hoses and pump replaced then it shouldn't be pushed too hard. I lost an engine to the small hose that sits on top of the EGR valve burning through and blowing while the engine...

Starting with the NISMO injectors http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/fuel-systems/auction-1257779831.htm I'll be selling off the easy to ship stuff first ...

Put it back to where it was. The timing is NOT retarded at all past 1500 rpm. The timing is not set by the ECU but by the timing marks. Once past idle the only different a auto ecu has is a small rpm blip when moving through neutral

DUDE, STOP .. join the AA and get yourself some pre purchase reports. Hell you don't even need to join the AA just NEVER EVER EVER buy a car until it's checked by someone who actually knows what they are looking at. Most sellers of dodgy cars will run a mile as soon as you talk about a clean AA repo...

Idel stuck at 200rpm is your water temp sensor that feeds the ECU not functioning properly. That's the default fall back rpm when that sensor fails

Don't use oil additives. They often are just concentrated detergents and can cause gunk to come away and block oil galleries causing major problems. If your engine is dirty internally use diesel oil. It does have extra additives to clean the gunk deposits but is way gentler and will dissolve them ra...

Bilsteins. Car origianally came from the land of the rising sun with these, nice compromise shocks - fully rebuildable :). Loved them until a shaft snapped under some spirited cornering in the gorge heading into Whangaphewe. Now running KYB Superstreets. A bit on the hard side for daily driving but ...

By law speedos only have to be accurate +/- 10%. I'm waiting for someone to challenge a ticket on the basis that their overspeed was within the margin of error of their speedo
