no subs or amps, just running 6.5" splits off the head unit (50w per/channel) at the moment. Nothing grunty at all.

2+0 times are going to be slightly better than 2+2, due to the weight difference. Hardtops are lighter again.

Well one way to find out... take it in get the chop and see what it sounds like (about $70 for the job). Kathie, I had the cats cut out of mine and test pipes 2.5" put in their place. At first it sounded pretty bad but I replaced my mufflers with turbo Hi flow triple plated ones (manufactured in christchurch) and now it sounds just right to me. No problems with back pressure.
